Full Time Lab MLT with no weekends or holidays (Wells location)
About the role
This position is for a generalist who will be responsible for sample collection and processing and performing various tests on patient samples in the following areas of the lab: Hematology, Chemistry, Coagulation, Microbiology, and Blood bank.
Responsibilities
- Accurately performs and reports waived, moderate and high-complexity tests.
- Maintains in-depth knowledge of all laboratory procedures performed.
- Performs preventative and corrective maintenance on Laboratory analyzers and instruments.
- Interprets results for accuracy, completion, and correlation with physiological condition; correct any problems or refer to manager or Lab Director.
- Recognizes and reports abnormal results, report critical values to appropriate nurse or provider within specified time frame, refer implausible results to manager or Lab Director.
- Maintains a working knowledge of reagent stability and storage.
- Performs venipuncture, fingerstick, or heelstick on patients by choosing appropriate site and device, with the ability to assess and react effectively to the unique needs of each patient.
- Performs EKG's on patients.
- Evaluates the acceptability of specimens within appropriate guidelines and ensure that unacceptable specimens are rejected and recollected within appropriate time frames.
- Sets work priorities to accommodate stat, critical, and routine testing, with the ability to perform Lab testing on several patients simultaneously.
- Performs QC and calibrations as assigned and take appropriate remedial action on waived, moderate, and high-complexity Lab tests, notifying the manager of any discrepancies.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have a current MLS/MT/MLT certification from a nationally recognized accrediting body and a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in a clinical laboratory setting.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Skills
Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team are essential. Proficiency with laboratory equipment and software is required.

Pay
$15.00 - $18.00 per hour, depending on experience.
Schedule
This is a 1.0 position, 8-hour shifts, 80 hours per pay period. Monday - Friday 8am-4:30 pm position, no weekends or holidays.
