Full Time Instructor, School of Nursing - MSN Required

Responsibilities

  • Teach courses in a variety of modalities while promoting and supporting the vision and mission of Rasmussen University.
  • Teach 4.5-5.5 work units each quarter, equivalent to a full-time work schedule.
  • Support the School of Nursing's simulation program.
  • Deliver high-quality simulation-based instruction using evidence-based teaching strategies, debriefing techniques, and multiple instructional methods that foster critical thinking, clinical judgment, and a safe learning environment.
  • Create high levels of student engagement through simulation activities, scenario-based learning, community building, and student-centered instruction, including the use of live classroom technology to support synchronous learning sessions.
  • Plan, facilitate, and evaluate simulation experiences that align with course outcomes, program objectives, and best practices in simulation education.
  • Organize classroom and efficiently use class time.
  • Play an integral role in the development and implementation of curriculum and assessment for their area of expertise.
  • Attend events, programmatic meetings, and committee work as agreed upon and/or designated by the Dean.

Qualifications

  • A Master’s Degree in Nursing is required.
  • An active Illinois RN license that has never been encumbered.
  • At least 2 years experience in Medical-Surgical/Telemetry/ICU, and at least 1 year teaching experience preferred.
  • American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers active CPR certification administered by either the American Heart Association or The American Red Cross.
  • One year clinical experience as an RN required, two years preferred.
  • Previous teaching/training experience preferred.
  • Self-motivated, flexible, and able to work in a team environment with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication, presentation, and leadership abilities.

Our defined compensation structure is market competitive and is built to reward performance. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role is $69,400.00 to $93,700.00. We take a number of factors into account when determining individual starting pay, including but not limited to: job and level hired into, location, skill set; experience and training; peer compensation and other business and organizational needs.
