Responsibilities

  • Instruct courses in various modalities.
  • Promote and support Rasmussen University's vision and mission.
  • Teach 4.5-5.5 work units each quarter, equivalent to a full-time work schedule.
  • Focus on effective teaching strategies and multiple teaching techniques.
  • Create high levels of student engagement through activities, community building, and student-centered learning.
  • Use live classroom tools for synchronous learning sessions with students.
  • Clarity, relevance, and connection of class session objectives to course performance.
  • Organize classroom and efficiently use class time.
  • Demonstrate mastery and ability to articulate and relate to students.
  • Play an integral role in curriculum and assessment development.
  • Support student success through faculty availability for synchronous or asynchronous communication and meetings.
  • Attend events, programmatic meetings, and committee work as agreed upon and/or designated by the Dean.

Requirements

  • A Master’s Degree in Nursing is required.
  • An active Illinois RN license with no encumbrances.
  • At least 2 years experience in Medical-Surgical/Telemetry/ICU, with at least 1 year of teaching experience preferred.
  • American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers certification.
  • Active CPR certification from either the American Heart Association or The American Red Cross.
  • 1 year clinical experience as an RN, with 2+ years preferred.
  • Previous teaching/training experience preferred.
  • Self-motivated, flexible, and able to work in a team environment with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication, presentation, and leadership abilities.

Qualifications

  • Proof of professional licenses/certifications, official transcripts for each degree earned from an accredited institution, and applicable faculty immunization documentation required.

Rasmussen University offers a competitive compensation and benefits program, including a defined compensation structure that is market competitive and built to reward performance. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role is $69,400.00 to $93,700.00. The pay range is subject to change.
