About the role
Lap of Love Veterinary Hospice is seeking an In‑Home Associate Veterinarian to provide compassionate hospice and euthanasia care for pets and families across Poughkeepsie, Wappingers Falls, New Paltz, Kingston, Highland, Hopewell Junction, Wappingers, Hyde Park, Saugerties, NY and surrounding areas. As a mobile veterinarian you will work independently while being supported by a community of more than 400 veterinarians and support professionals. The role offers ongoing training, seasoned mentors, dedicated practice managers, and 24/7/365 support, allowing you to practice with purpose and maintain a balanced, fulfilling life.
Schedule
Flexible 2‑5 day‑per‑week schedules are available. An average day includes 3‑4 un‑rushed appointments, providing ample time with families and reduced paperwork. Availability to work some weekends is required.
Pay
Compensation varies by schedule structure:
- 4‑day positions start at $85,000 base salary.
- 5‑day positions offer a $100,000 base salary plus additional bonus opportunities.
- 3‑day full‑time and part‑time opportunities are available with prorated compensation based on schedule.
Requirements
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD/BVMS).
- Valid U.S. driver’s license.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lb unassisted and up to 100 lb with assistance.
- Availability to work some weekends.
- Successful background and motor‑vehicle record check (pre‑hire and post‑hire).
