Full Time HVAC Instructor

Charter College in Farmington, NM is seeking a Full-Time HVAC Instructor to teach 5-week classes on campus. Use your HVAC expertise to shape the next generation of technicians in our popular HVAC program.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver lecture, laboratory, and clinical instruction according to the required curriculum.
• Follow or develop course outlines, objectives, and evaluation mechanisms.
• Maintain a lesson plan of daily instructional events.
• Monitor student attendance, retention, and document as required.
• Grade assignments, return graded work to students, and assign final grades in a timely manner.
• Provide educational assistance to students during office hours or by appointment.
• Substitute in classes when necessary.
• Advise students on school policies and performance.
• Maintain communication with the Dean of Education regarding student activity.
• Monitor equipment and supply inventory in locked facilities.
• Secure consumable supplies and educational materials as needed.
• Maintain a professional appearance and expertise through faculty development (e.g., seminars, literature, online courses).
• Ensure students follow catalog guidelines daily.
• Attend all scheduled mandatory meetings.
• Serve on committees (e.g., curriculum development, retention) as assigned.
• Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of field experience in HVAC.
• HVAC certification preferred.
• Teaching or instructional experience is a plus.
• High school diploma or equivalent (required).
• Ability to commute to Farmington, NM 87402 and relocate before starting work.

Pay

Salary range: $65,000–$68,000 per year, depending on experience. $2,500 sign-on bonus.

Schedule

• Day or evening classes, Monday through Thursday.
• Total on-campus time: 32 hours per week (including class time and office hours).
• Additional 8 hours of online work per week.
• Day shift or evening shift available.
