Job Summary
The primary function is to provide personal healthcare and related services to the patient/client in his or her place of residence, assist in maintaining a safe and clean environment, work cooperatively with the patient/client and family, and share observations and problems with the supervisor. The role works under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse.
Responsibilities
- Provide personal healthcare and related services to patients in their homes.
- Assist in creating and maintaining a safe, clean environment for patients.
- Collaborate with patients, families, and caregivers to ensure quality care.
- Report observations and any issues to the supervising registered nurse.
- Follow agency policies and procedures while delivering care.
Requirements
- High School Diploma (preferred).
- Current driver’s license.
- At least one year of experience preferred as a Home Health Aide or Nursing Assistant in a hospital, nursing home, or hospice agency.
- Reliable transportation and valid current auto liability insurance.
Skills
- Ability to read, write, and verbally report clinical information to patients, representatives, caregivers, and agency staff.
- Demonstrated interest in the welfare of the ill and elderly.
- Current CPR certification.
- Successful completion of the Aide Competency Evaluation Skills Checklist and written Skills Test.
