Full Time Grocery Merchandiser - Des Plaines, IL

About the role
The Grocery Merchandiser will manage their assigned territory by completing store visits, surveys, and tasks. This position requires merchandising, consistent use of mobile apps for reporting, photo uploads, task completion, and communication, and the ability to repeatedly bend and lift up to 50 pounds. Location: Palatine/Des Plaines, IL (within a 25-55 mile radius).
Responsibilities
- Gain and maintain product distribution by establishing strong relationships with store teams.
- Perform retail work including ordering products, stocking shelves, and conducting audits in grocery stores.
- Travel to and between store locations within the designated territory.
- Verify that clients' products are accurately represented on store shelves and well stocked; order if product is low or out of stock.
- Maintain a safe working environment while working in stores.
- Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to dress code and attendance guidelines.
- Stand, walk, bend, squat, and lift regularly throughout the day; must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Work independently in a fast-paced, retail environment with minimal supervision.
- Comply with additional guidelines established by store teams.
- Attend client kickoff video calls and team check-ins as required.
- Switch between tasks such as stocking, reporting, and communicating with store teams throughout the day.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Reliable transportation, valid Driver License, and proof of automobile insurance.
- Reliable phone (within 5 years old) with service and internet for daily communication.
- Ability to drive to stores in assigned territory to complete retail tasks and audits at local grocery retailers.
- Strong communication skills and ability to follow directions independently.
- Bilingual preferred but not required.
- Previous retail, sales, or merchandising experience is a plus but not required.
