About the role
We are seeking a highly organized Finance Clerk to provide support across resident accounts, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll/benefits support, and general finance administration across multiple Long-Term Care homes, including Rainycrest, Emo Health Centre, and Rainy River. This position requires regular travel to the Emo and Rainy River Long-Term Care homes to provide on-site support to residents, families, and staff. The Finance Clerk will serve as a flexible resource within the Finance Department, providing coverage and assistance across multiple finance functions during employee absences, vacancies, workload pressures, and special projects.
Responsibilities
- Resident Accounts & Billing
- Maintain resident accounts in PointClickCare
- Process billing, payments, adjustments, and account updates
- Support admissions, transfers, and discharges
- Respond to resident and family inquiries
- Travel to Emo and Rainy River Long-Term Care homes to provide in-person resident account support
- Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable & Finance Support
- Process payments and prepare deposits
- Monitor outstanding accounts and assist with collection activities
- Support reconciliations, trust accounts, and month-end tasks
- Assist with accounts payable processing, general ledger entries, and financial reporting
- Provide support across various finance functions as operational needs require
- Payroll & Administrative Support
- Assist with payroll processing (timesheets, data entry, verification)
- Support benefits and pension administration (HOOPP)
- Maintain filing systems and financial records
- Support statistical reporting and data entry
Requirements
- Grade 12 or equivalent (finance/accounting education an asset)
- 1–3 years finance, AR, or payroll experience
- PointClickCare experience an asset
- Strong Excel and computer skills
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and travel between sites
- Valid driver’s license required
Working Conditions
