About the role

Robotics and Digital Solutions (RDS) Division of The Hillman Group has an opening for a Full Time Field Service Technician in the Richmond, VA area. You would begin your career with RDS as a Kiosk Technician training on key duplicating (Minute Key), tag engraving (Quick Tag) kiosks as well as 3rd party service (Eco-ATM, Pokémon). The territory consists of 70+ kiosks and number of hours per week is around 40.

Pay

This is an hourly role based on experience ranging from $24 - $25 an hour.

Responsibilities

  • Re-stock and perform routine service on kiosks as needed (determined by demand at the machine, or schedule)
  • Perform on-call repairs or adjustments to the machine when the machine goes out of order
  • New kiosk installations or swap newer kiosks of machines in the local area
  • Monitor machines in territory daily for issues and contact stores to resolve connectivity or power issues
  • Keep track of inventory for re-stocking machines that are in Kiosk Tech’s possession
  • Grow revenue in territory by optimizing machine locations, uptime, product mix, store relationships, etc.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Background in electromechanical repair and maintenance (preferred)
  • Prior experience in retail merchandising, field operations and customer service (preferred)
  • A minimum of 1-3 years of experience in a similar profile (preferred)
  • Experience with tools and troubleshooting mechanical problems
  • Ability to read, write and speak fluent English to include technical “jargon”

Skills

  • Computer literacy, including knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to always represent Hillman professionally
  • Ability to work weekends when required

Operational Equipment

  • Excellent driving record with a valid driver's license; clean driving record is mandatory
  • Reliable transportation with automobile insurance (mileage reimbursement)
  • Reliable cell phone (reimbursed)

Work Environment and Physical Demands

  • Sales/Service Environment varies due to location/store set-up; may be exposed to cramped quarters, dust, fumes, or odors
  • Travel required daily; may have to drive 200 miles daily
  • Hand/eye coordination required
  • Functional vision and hearing required
  • Medium lifting up to 30 lbs., occasionally pushing/pulling up to 100 lbs.
