Responsibilities
- Equip students with the required skill set
- Facilitate classroom discussions
- Assess student performance
- Prepare students for success in their profession
- Prepare and deliver lectures and demonstrations
- Facilitate learning in the on-ground or online classroom
- Assess student performance according to University Assessment Practices
- Stay current in social media and teaching techniques
- Maintain a four-course teaching load each semester
- Participate in faculty and College/University committee activities
- Perform other duties as directed by the Dean
Requirements
- MFA in graphic design, advertising, copywriting, public relations, multi-media, marketing, or related discipline (preferred)
- MA or related graduate degree (minimum)
- Post-secondary experience teaching design or related content creation courses
- 3+ years documented industry experience
- Submit a digital portfolio including 5-8 case studies of social media campaigns
- Experience in strategy, concept, and implementation of advertising and marketing campaigns
- Direct client-facing experience working with brands
- Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva, Hootsuite, HubSpot, or similar applications
- Experience building, maintaining, listening, and managing social media communities
- Experience working with marketing teams, agencies, or clients
- Excellent writing and communication skills, including copywriting and presentations
- Act as a mentor to adjunct faculty
- Participate in student clubs and organizations
- Provide a positive example to students
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of social media trends and best practices
- Ability to teach effectively in both on-ground and online settings
- Experience with industry-standard content creation, scheduling, and data review tools
- Knowledge of various social media platforms and their functionalities
- Effective communication and collaboration skills
