Part-Time Faculty: Communication and Media Studies Dept

About the role

This is an ongoing advertisement for part-time faculty within the Department of Communication and Media Studies at Fordham University. Teaching takes place in person at the university’s Rose Hill campus (Bronx) or Lincoln Center (Manhattan).

Duties

• Teach and undertake related duties across undergraduate and Masters programs in:
  • Communication and Culture
  • Digital Technology and Emerging Media
  • Film and Television Studies
  • Journalism
  • Masters in Public Media
• Use pre-existing syllabi in most cases.
• Meet class requirements:
  • Most classes meet twice weekly for 75 minutes.
  • Some evening and production classes meet once weekly for 2.5 hours.
• Hold regular weekly office hours (which can be held remotely).
• Teach classes with enrollment sizes typically ranging from 15–35 students.

Qualifications

• Minimum: Master’s degree in a cognate subject.
• Ideally: PhD (or enrollment in a PhD program) in a relevant field.
• Minimum of two years of relevant teaching experience in higher education.
