About the role
This is an ongoing advertisement for part-time faculty within the Department of Communication and Media Studies at Fordham University. Teaching takes place in person at the university’s Rose Hill campus (Bronx) or Lincoln Center (Manhattan).
Duties
- Teach and undertake related duties across undergraduate and Masters programs in:
- Communication and Culture
- Digital Technology and Emerging Media
- Film and Television Studies
- Journalism
- Masters in Public Media
- Use pre-existing syllabi in most cases.
- Meet class requirements:
- Most classes meet twice weekly for 75 minutes.
- Some evening and production classes meet once weekly for 2.5 hours.
- Hold regular weekly office hours (which can be held remotely).
- Teach classes with enrollment sizes typically ranging from 15–35 students.
Qualifications
- Minimum: Master’s degree in a cognate subject.
- Ideally: PhD (or enrollment in a PhD program) in a relevant field.
- Minimum of two years of relevant teaching experience in higher education.
