Full Time Faculty, Practical Nursing
About the role
NorthWest Arkansas Community College (NWACC) seeks qualified candidates for a full-time clinical nursing faculty position. This position requires a current, unencumbered registered nurse license to practice in Arkansas, a Master’s degree in Nursing, and two years of clinical experience. The successful candidate will teach clinical skills, provide mentorship, and participate in ongoing professional development.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate student learning and provide effective instruction for assigned classes.
- Develop and administer course curriculum, including lectures, labs, and presentations.
- Assist in program-level learning assessment and contribute to the development of program curriculum, standards, and policies.
- Schedule, supervise, debrief, and evaluate students in clinical settings.
- Communicate with students via email, phone, or personal conferences.
- Keep a flexible schedule to accommodate student learning needs.
- Participate in summative and formative faculty evaluation processes.
- Stay current in academic or program discipline, including maintaining licensure and certification.
- Attend local, regional, state, or national meetings relevant to the discipline.
- Mentor and assist new faculty members.
- Teach clinical skills, provide mentorship, and assist with patient care.
Requirements
- Holding a current, unencumbered registered nurse license to practice in Arkansas.
- Previous experience in clinical nursing.
- A Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN).
- Two years of clinical experience.
- Experience in clinical teaching.
- Classroom teaching experience (at least one year preferred).

- Fine motor dexterity for precise tasks.
- Physical endurance for extended periods and 8-12 hour shifts.
- Physical strength to lift, carry, push, pull, and support up to 50 pounds.

- Sensory acuity for hearing, vision, and touch.
- Cognitive, communication, and interpersonal capability for reading, interpreting, and communicating effectively.
