About the Role

Fiddlers Elementary School in the Iron County School District is seeking a Full-Time 4th Grade Elementary Educator for a one-year position. This role is pivotal in empowering students to learn at high levels by building knowledge, skills, and relationships. The educator will work under the direction of the school principal to create a flexible and supportive learning environment that fosters academic and personal growth for all students.

Responsibilities

• Teach core subjects (reading, language arts, social studies, mathematics, science, art, health, physical education, music, and applied technology) using standards adopted by the Board of Education.
• Develop and adapt lesson plans to meet individual student needs, utilizing effective teaching techniques to maximize learning.
• Maintain classroom organization, discipline, and a safe, supervised environment.
• Establish and uphold standards of pupil behavior to ensure a functional learning atmosphere.
• Utilize computers and other technological classroom support equipment in instruction.
• Measure and evaluate pupil progress using appropriate techniques and tools, and prepare progress reports.
• Communicate with parents through conferences and other means to discuss academic and personal progress, and interpret school programs.
• Collaborate with other professional staff on academic and personal growth initiatives.
• Demonstrate professional ethics as outlined by the Utah Professional Practices Advisory Commission.
• Adhere to District policies, including those related to attendance, absences, and evaluations.
• Create an effective learning environment through displays, bulletin boards, and interest centers.
• Maintain professional competence through district-provided in-service education and self-selected professional growth activities.
• Participate in faculty meetings, committees, and sponsorship of pupil activities.
• Administer group standardized tests in accordance with the district testing program.
• Select and requisition books and instructional materials; maintain required inventory records.
• Cooperate with custodial staff to maintain general housekeeping in assigned areas.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Regular, reliable, and predictable attendance and job performance are required.
