Elementary School Teacher FT - 4th Grade
Key Responsibilities
- Instruction & Planning: Develop and deliver lesson plans aligned with state standards, adapting methods to accommodate diverse learning styles and IEPs.
- Assessment & Data: Evaluate performance using proficiency-based learning scales, maintain accurate student records, and collaborate twice weekly in PLCs to inform teaching practices.
- Classroom Management: Establish a safe, engaging, and structured environment with consistent routines, respectful culture, and clear behavioral expectations.
- Communication & Collaboration: Maintain regular, proactive communication with parents and build trusting, professional relationships with colleagues.
Preferred Qualifications
- Education & Certifications: Master's degree and/or ESL Endorsement (completed or in progress).
- Experience: Prior experience teaching 4th grade, or familiarity with Wit & Wisdom and Open Up curricula.
- Core Skills: Strong communication, interpersonal skills, lesson planning proficiency, and effective classroom management.
Licensure Requirements
All applicants must have a Professional Educator License awarded by the Utah State Board of Education (USBE) or apply for an Associate Educator License (AEL) to be eligible to apply to Jordan School District and participate in our Alternate Pathway to Professional Educator Licensing (APPEL) Program when hired. Proof of an AEL is required before you will be added to the candidate pool. Proof of enrollment in a teacher certification program at a local university will also be accepted in lieu of an AEL.

Utah State Retirement
Benefit eligible employees are automatically members of the Utah Retirement Systems (URS). The District contributes into the URS plan on your behalf each month. After the URS vesting period of four years, you will have either the Hybrid option (a combination of a pension with a 401k plan) or the 401k option if you choose. Both plans are employer-paid. You can also choose to enhance your retirement with URS by contributing additional money from your paychecks into a 401k, 457, Traditional IRA, or Roth IRA.
