Full-time DSP Benhaven Residential: North Haven 6 Bed CLA #1

Benhaven is seeking dedicated and compassionate individuals to join our team as Direct Support Professionals in our Residential Services program. This role supports adults with developmental disabilities and autism in a residential setting, assisting with daily living activities to help them live fulfilling lives.

Schedule

• Full-Time (36 hours): Tuesday 3pm-9pm, Friday 3pm-9pm, Saturday & Sunday 9am-9pm
• Full-Time (30 hours): Monday-Friday 9am-3pm
• Full-Time (36 hours): Saturday 9am-9pm, Monday & Tuesday 9pm-9am

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities in a residential setting
• Assist individuals with activities of daily living, such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, and household chores
• Implement individualized support plans and goals under the direction of the Residential Services Coordinator
• Ensure the safety and well-being of individuals at all times
• Encourage individuals to participate in social, recreational, and community activities
• Document daily progress and any incidents or concerns in individual files
• Communicate effectively with individuals, families, and staff members
• Attend trainings and meetings as required

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Previous experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities and autism preferred
• Ability to pass a criminal & driver’s background check
• Valid CT driver’s license, current registration, and auto insurance
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• CPR & PMT certified preferred, but will provide training
• DDS Med Certified preferred, but will provide training
