About the role

The Lead Diesel Technician is an experienced master technician responsible for performing major and minor repairs, diagnostics, and maintenance on fleet diesel equipment. They work independently, mentor others, and ensure quality repairs by using diagnostic tools and maintaining thorough documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance on diesel fleet equipment
  • Inspect critical components such as brakes and steering
  • Conduct diagnostics and troubleshoot vehicle issues
  • Perform routine tasks including oil changes and equipment lubrication
  • Maintain thorough documentation of repairs and maintenance
  • Mentor and support team development

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 5-7 years of practical experience in truck and tractor-trailer maintenance
  • Proven experience in diesel fleet maintenance
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent documentation and safety practices
  • Leadership and mentoring abilities
