Full-Time Deli Clerk

About the role

Weavers Way is a member-owned co-op operating on a triple bottom line philosophy known as People-Planet-Profit. We are looking for an energetic, community-oriented and experienced individual to work as a Deli Clerk at our Ambler location. This position is full-time, working an anticipated 35+ hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Providing responsive, exceptional service to deli counter customers by answering questions, making recommendations, providing samples, and responding to requests.
• Recommending, slicing, weighing, packaging, and pricing meats and cheeses.
• Updating displays, cases, and other customer-facing areas to ensure new items and promotions are showcased.
• Ensuring that work areas are ready to service customers by cleaning surfaces, equipment, and floors, removing trash, and confirming that tools are in working order.
• Following all food safety and sanitation procedures established by the company and other regulatory agencies.
• Cooperating with others to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Confirming that all displays, products, and services comply with company standards.

Requirements

• A commitment to the mission and goals of Weavers Way Co-op.
• Deli counter or food preparation experience.
• Dedication to a high-level of customer service.
• Experience with commercial deli equipment, such as slicers, is preferred.
• Knowledge of basic knife skills is preferred.
• Great attention to detail.
• Good communication and people skills.
• The ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• The ability to remain standing for extended periods of time, up to 8 hours.
• Be, or become upon hiring, a member in good standing of Weavers Way Co-op.

Pay

$17.00 per hour
