Full-time Criminal Field Investigator IV (Black Hawk) - This position offers a $5,000 signing bonus!

About the role

The position is open exclusively to Colorado residents. Additionally, there is a $5,000 signing bonus available.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex investigations into alleged violations of Colorado Statutes and Limited Gaming Regulations.
• Proactively patrol casino floors as an armed, uniformed officer to deter cheating and theft while preserving the peace.
• Issue criminal summonses, prepare arrest warrants, and provide expert testimony in criminal, civil, and administrative hearings.
• Conduct advanced interrogations to gather critical evidence.
• Perform comprehensive inspections of gaming devices, facilities, and records to verify compliance with Internal Control Minimum Procedures.
• Investigate and resolve patron complaints regarding jackpot awards using expert knowledge of gaming technology and state law.
• Collaborate and support with local and multi-jurisdictional agencies on case filings and provide security for Department of Revenue facilities.
• Manage evidence collection and preservation, including the use of state databases to track inventory and sales data.

Requirements

P.O.S.T. certification is required at the time of application and must remain active, in good standing, and free of any restrictions, suspensions, or revocations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration, criminology, criminal justice, criminalistics, political science, police science, law enforcement, law, psychology, sociology, or a related field, plus 4 years of relevant investigative experience.
• Eight years of relevant investigative experience in both criminal and regulatory investigations.
• A combination of related education and experience totaling eight years, with a bachelor’s degree and four years of relevant experience.

Skills

• Knowledge of Colorado rules and regulations related to the Division of Gaming.
• Recent experience with investigations, interpreting and applying statutes, and researching databases.
• Outstanding problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proven ability to work independently and accept supervision.
• Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.

Benefits

The position offers a starting salary of $41.24/hr, along with shift differential and/or overtime. There is also a $5,000 sign-on bonus, with $2,500 awarded upon hire and an additional $2,500 after six months of service.

Pay

$41.24 per hour

Schedule

Nights, rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and on-call status while off-duty for emergency and supervisory response.
