Full Time Congregate Residential Counselor-Roslindale, MA

About the role

The Home for Little Wanderers is seeking a Full Time Residential Counselor for their Therapeutic After School Program (TASP) in Roslindale, MA. TASP provides clinical services to youth aged 12 to 16 who have experienced abuse, neglect, trauma, or a disrupted family life. The program aims to support youth in achieving their goals based on their individualized treatment plans.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe and secure environment for clients
• Counsel, observe, and provide behavioral training, outreach support, and treatment to children and their families
• Ensure individuals served are supported to lead emotionally and physically healthy lifestyles
• Plan and participate in activities with clients/students on an individual and small group level
• Teach age-appropriate life skills and social skills through modeling, counseling, and other techniques
• Communicate through written and verbal means with other program staff
• Complete assigned paperwork including time sheets, level cards, goal/level tracking, incident reports, and 51A’s
• Attend trainings and participate in supervision meetings

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• One year childcare experience in a residential setting with similar population of children
• Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office and Internet Explorer
• Driving requirements may apply if required to transport clients
