About the Role
In this role, Physical Security Officers (PSOs) can expect to work in demanding and fast-paced environments. PSOs may find themselves working in a wide range of areas including medical centers, government facilities, hospitality venues, and public events. Additionally, PSOs may be asked to work with a firearm. The PSO's mission is to protect all people, information, and property assigned while delivering high-end customer service. PSOs represent the front line of our security services.
Responsibilities
- Delivering high-end customer service
- Responding to emergencies
- Deterring and preventing crime
- Performing ingress/egress control procedures
- Investigating incidents
- Completing daily logs and incident reports
- Conducting regular walking or vehicle patrols
- Building and maintaining a professional rapport with clients, guests, and co-workers
- De-escalating conflicts
- Monitoring CCTV cameras
- Performing other related duties as assigned
Requirements
- ACT 235 (current)
- 21 years of age
- Current and valid driver's license
- High school diploma or GED
- One year of experience in armed security recommended
- Must be able to pass PAT and ASO course
- Must be able to pass drug screen
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Proficient time management skills
- Reliable transportation
- Excellent de-escalation skills
- Proficient firearms skills
- Extensive use of force knowledge
- Must be able to pass a comprehensive background investigation, urinalysis screening, and OPS training requirements
Appearance
- Officers shall maintain their hair in a neat, clean, and combed professional appearance
- Beards and mustaches must be clean and neatly trimmed
- Officer’s fingernails shall not extend more than ¼ inch from the tip of the finger or interfere in any way in the performance of duty or with the safe drawing of issued equipment
- Fingernail polish is allowed if it does not distract from the uniform
Physical Requirements / Working Conditions
- Ability to work under stress/pressure
- Ability to lift 25 pounds
- Ability to wear a uniform
- Ability to pass Physical Agility Test (PAT)
- Ability to use force, up to and including deadly force, when reasonably justified
