Responsibilities
- Able to carry out oral and written instructions including those in the student's IEP and 504 plan to allow access to the educational environment.
- Assisting teachers in presentation and development of learning materials and instructional exercises.
- Performing routine clerical work.
- Working with instructional media, office machines, and equipment.
Requirements
- Immediate/continued inclusion in Public School Employees' Retirement System (PSERS).
- Six (6) Paid Holidays: Thanksgiving Day, Day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Day, and Good Friday.
- Paid Leave: 3 Personal Days and 10 Sick Days (pro-rated based on start date).
- If applicable, Paid Bereavement Leave and Jury Duty Supplemental Pay.
Qualifications
- Highly Qualified = High School Diploma (or GED equivalent) AND completion of an assessment through our special education department,
- Completed at least two years of postsecondary study (48 credit hours or more),
- Associate's Degree or higher,
- Completion of at least 20 hours of staff development activities related to assignment each school year.
Skills
- Child-centered, warm, and receptive to children.
- Ability to carry out oral and written communications/instructions and work cooperatively with others.
- Adequate record of attendance.

Pay
- Your work schedule and pay will follow student attendance full and half days during the school year -- approximately 177 student days mid-August through early June.
- For a full school year, your bi-weekly pays will typically begin by mid-September and continue through late-June.
Schedule
- Full-day hours: 8:00 AM - 3:30 PM, which is 7.00 working hours and a 30-minute unpaid lunch period.
