Full Stack Engineering Lead

Responsibilities
- Shape the Technical Vision: Collaborate with the Chief Architect to turn strategic ideas into actionable engineering plans. Play a key role in architectural decisions that influence the future of our platform.
- Drive Innovation & R&D: Lead efforts to evaluate, experiment with, and adopt emerging technologies—ensuring we stay ahead of the curve and continuously improve our stack.
- Modernize Our Platform: Take ownership of transforming legacy systems into a scalable, resilient microservices architecture. You’ll guide both strategy and hands-on execution.
- Stay Hands-On Across the Stack: Design and build high-performance applications using Java, Python, and Go, contributing directly to critical systems.
- Elevate DevOps & Infrastructure: Build and optimize infrastructure-as-code solutions (Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible) and streamline CI/CD pipelines using GitLab.
- Lead IoT & Cloud Integrations: Drive development of IoT solutions using MQTT and AWS Greengrass, connecting real-world systems to scalable cloud platforms.
- Mentor & Inspire: Support and grow junior engineers, champion best practices, and foster a culture of quality, performance, and continuous learning.
- Own Container Strategy: Guide containerization and orchestration efforts using modern tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
Requirements
- Deep Experience: 7–10+ years in software engineering, with a strong foundation in building and scaling systems
- Modern Architecture Expertise: Proven success migrating legacy systems to microservices
- Core Technologies: Strong proficiency in Java (REST APIs, Tomcat) and Python
- DevOps Mindset: Hands-on experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, and Ansible
- CI/CD & Containers: Expertise with GitLab pipelines, Docker, and Kubernetes
- Cloud & IoT Knowledge: Experience with MQTT and AWS Greengrass (AWS certification is a plus)
- Agile Leadership: Experience leading or contributing within Scrum/Agile teams
- Strategic Thinking: Comfortable collaborating with senior leadership on architecture and long-term planning

- Kubernetes expertise
- Experience with OpenTelemetry (OTEL)
- Exposure to additional cloud platforms
