Full Stack Engeneer

About the role

We are hiring Fullstack Engineers with strong product and technical skills to own features end-to-end, from architecture to deployment. Ideal candidates are experienced in both frontend and backend development, comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment, and excited to contribute across the stack.

Core Responsibilities

• Architect, develop, and deploy fullstack solutions
• Collaborate with the team to define and deliver product requirements
• Own projects from 0→1, ensuring scalability, security, and performance
• Maintain high-quality, maintainable code across frontend and backend
• Contribute to system design and cloud infrastructure

Must-Have Qualifications

• CS degree from a top-tier or elite school OR 5+ years software engineering experience at a top startup/tech company OR strong GitHub portfolio with meaningful contributions
• Junior candidates: self-starter with demonstrable projects and code
• Senior candidates: experience leading complex projects, with clear career progression (Engineer → Senior → Lead/Architect)
• Backend: willing to work with Ruby on Rails (prior experience strongly preferred)
• Frontend: React and TypeScript required
• CI/CD and cloud experience (AWS, GCP, Kubernetes)

Preferred Qualifications

• Ruby on Rails experience
• Early-stage startup experience
• Strong GitHub presence
• Experience designing or owning system architecture in a 0→1 environment

Candidate Red Flags

• No elite university or top-tier tech company background
• No Ruby on Rails experience or unwillingness to use it
• Multiple short stints without explanation
• No startup experience
• Only large company experience with no startup exposure
• Only frontend or only backend experience; unwilling to work across stack
• No public GitHub or code samples
• Buzzword-heavy resumes without depth

Interview Process

• Technical Screen (CTO, 45–60 min): Culture fit discussion + coding problem
• Cultural Screen (CEO, 30 min)
• System Design Screen (60 min)
• Onsite Day: AM: Pair on 0→1 project
• PM: Pair on real production ticket
• Can be scheduled on weekends if needed
