About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled Full Stack Developer Specialist to lead and manage multiple agile squads in delivering modern full-stack application capabilities. This role requires a strong technical leader with proven experience in software engineering, team management, and hands-on expertise in AWS, Java, and microservices architecture. The ideal candidate will have a passion for fostering collaboration, driving innovation, and delivering scalable, secure, and resilient solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead multiple agile squads to deliver user-facing applications, APIs, microservices, integration services, platform modernization, and production enhancements.
  • Provide technical direction by guiding solution design, reviewing implementation approaches, and ensuring scalable, secure, and maintainable engineering decisions.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners, architecture teams, business stakeholders, and cross-functional technology teams to align priorities and deliver business outcomes.
  • Design and implement Java-based microservices, REST APIs, front-end applications, and integration services using modern technologies such as Java, Spring Boot, AWS, Angular or React, SQL, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing frameworks.
  • Create proofs of concept, demos, and prototypes to evaluate emerging technologies and validate new ideas.
  • Establish and enforce software engineering standards, including scalable design, code quality, automated testing, peer reviews, deployment discipline, and application security.
  • Ensure solutions meet compliance, auditability, security, resiliency, accessibility, and production support requirements.
  • Oversee engineering production support, including incident triage, root-cause analysis, observability, and continuous improvement of application and platform reliability.
  • Mentor and develop engineering talent through coaching, performance management, hiring, and succession planning.
  • Foster a culture of ownership, collaboration, continuous improvement, and accountability while identifying opportunities to improve delivery efficiency and engineering outcomes.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of software engineering or technology delivery experience, including 2+ years of people management and leadership experience.
  • Proven experience leading multiple agile squads and delivering complex technology initiatives across full-stack applications, APIs, microservices, and platform modernization.
  • Hands-on expertise with Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, microservices architecture, AWS, Angular or React, SQL, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing frameworks.
  • Strong background in application architecture, API design, enterprise integration patterns, application security, and delivery of scalable digital products.
  • Experience establishing and applying software engineering standards, including scalable design, code quality, automated testing, and production readiness.
  • Proven ability to provide technical direction, evaluate solution options, and create proofs of concept or demos to validate new ideas and technologies.
  • Experience managing engineering production support responsibilities, including incident triage, root-cause analysis, and platform reliability improvements.
  • Strong leadership skills, including hiring, coaching, mentoring, delegation, and talent development.
  • Ability to manage dependencies with vendors, Product Owners, architecture teams, and internal engineering teams to deliver software solutions effectively.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or a related technical discipline; advanced degree preferred.

$100–$110 per hour
