Full Stack Developer 729

Freedom Technology Solutions Group is seeking a hands-on Full Stack Software Engineer to develop modern cloud-native applications supporting mission-critical intelligence and geospatial platforms.

About the role

You will design, develop, and maintain user interfaces, APIs, backend services, and cloud-native microservices that enable analysts and mission partners to securely discover, process, and exploit geospatial data. This role works across the full technology stack from responsive web applications to scalable backend services and cloud infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop modern web applications
• Develop RESTful APIs and backend services
• Build cloud-native microservices
• Develop responsive user interfaces
• Integrate with geospatial services and enterprise APIs
• Build automated testing pipelines
• Participate in Agile development
• Support CI/CD deployments
• Optimize application performance
• Troubleshoot production systems
• Collaborate with architects, data scientists, and mission stakeholders to gather, document, and refine customer requirements, including data mapping and integration needs
• Assist in implementing integration solutions in collaboration with development team members
• Facilitate communication between stakeholders to ensure timely and effective requirements execution
• Ensure activities align with established processes, standards, and mission objectives
• Contribute to documentation of processes, procedures, integration patterns, and lessons learned

Key Technologies

• Backend systems and integration concepts (APIs, data mapping, file-based transfers)
• AWS services (S3, Lambda, SQS, SNS, ECS, ECR, EKS, API Gateway, Cloudwatch, KMS)
• CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI/CD or similar)
• Containerized and serverless environments
• Data transfer and file processing concepts
• Dashboards, metrics, and operational visibility tools
• Secure data handling and access control concepts (IAM, least privilege)
• Frontend: JavaScript - React, Angular, HTML5, CSS3
• DevOps: Docker, Podman, Kubernetes, GitLab, Harbor, CloudFormation, CDK, Terraform, other IaC, Linux
• Backend: Aurora, PostgreSQL/PostGIS, Oracle (with spatial), KVS – Redis, Memcache, Elasticache, GDAL/OGR, other storage tech (S3, NFS, CIFS, SAMBA, NAS, SAN, DAS, etc.)

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI clearance (eligible for CI Poly)
• 1–3 (Junior), 3–7 (Journeyman), 8–11 (Senior), or 12+ (Principal) years of experience in software development, system integration, or technical support roles
• Experience working directly with customers or stakeholders in a technical or mission environment
• Strong communication and coordination skills across technical and non-technical teams
• Experience gathering and documenting requirements
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a dynamic environment
• Familiarity with Agile development practices
• Experience using GitLab or similar tools for collaboration and tracking

Desired Qualifications

• Familiarity with secure data movement environments
• Experience working with enterprise service processes such as Service+
• Development or scripting experience (Python, JavaScript, or similar)
• Experience with data mapping or integration workflows (using JSON or other object notation)
• Familiarity with operational dashboards and metrics reporting
• Experience supporting customer requirement implementation and/or system integration efforts
• Experience building cloud-native applications
• Experience with microservices
• Experience with geospatial applications
• Experience with mapping frameworks
• Experience with GDAL or geospatial libraries
• Experience supporting Intelligence Community customers
