Full Service Technician - Weekend

About the role

As a Full Service Technician, you will recondition, reassemble, and test substation transformers while adhering to all safety requirements, product quality standards, and company policies. The position involves reading and following work order instructions to rebuild transformers to customer specifications, gathering and inspecting parts and tools, and performing quality checks and basic testing on units.

Responsibilities

• Clean and inspect transformer components
• Replace gaskets, change oil, and perform basic repairs
• Perform quality checks and basic testing on units before they leave the workstation
• Utilize shop equipment and tools safely and appropriately, including overhead cranes and material handling equipment
• Return equipment to proper location after use
• Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly workstation
• Notify management immediately of any safety concerns, hazardous conditions, or injuries
• Adhere to all safety and environmental compliance regulations
• Meet department and production goals set by supervisor
• Ensure product quality meets company and client expectations
• Complete company compliance and safety training as required
• Perform other assigned duties as needed

Requirements

• HS Diploma/GED preferred
• Mechanical and transformer experience preferred
• OSHA10 certification preferred
• Material handling equipment experience (forklift, crane, etc.) preferred
• Proven track record in safety excellence
• Ability to read and interpret work orders
• Strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and problem-solving abilities
• Cooperative attitude and strong attention to detail
• Ability to work in a team environment and learn other department job functions
• Ability to work a flexible schedule and under pressure in a fast-paced environment

Physical Requirements

• Lift 50 lbs from floor to waist and waist to shoulder multiple times
• Stand and walk for long durations
• Bend, squat, and kneel multiple times for extended periods
• Climb up and down a ladder multiple times
• Balance and stand on a ladder with three points of contact for extended periods
• Work comfortably in heat and cold (manufacturing facilities are not climate-controlled)

Schedule

Friday–Sunday, 5:00 AM to 5:30 PM (12-hour shift with guaranteed 40 hours per week).
