Full Service Technician
Brief Description
The Full-Service Technician is responsible for reconditioning, reassembly, and testing of substation transformers. Compliance with all safety requirements, product quality standards, and company policies are essential functions of this role.
Read and follow work order instructions to ensure transformers are rebuilt to customer specifications. Gather necessary parts and tools, ensuring they are in good condition. Perform tasks such as cleaning and inspecting components, replacing gaskets, changing oil, and conducting basic repairs. Conduct quality checks and basic testing on units before leaving the workstation. Safely operate shop equipment and material handling equipment like overhead cranes.
Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly workstation. Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- HS Diploma/GED preferred
- Mechanical and transformer experience preferred
- OSHA10 certification preferred
- Material handling equipment experience (forklift, crane, etc.) preferred
- A proven track record in safety excellence is required
- Adhere to all safety and environmental compliance regulations
- Notify management of safety concerns, hazardous conditions, or injuries
- Ability to read and interpret work orders
- Meet department and production goals
- Possess a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, problem-solving abilities, cooperative attitude, strong attention to detail, and teamwork
- Adhere to the company’s employee handbook policies and embody core values
- Ability to learn other department job functions and assist as needed
- Complete company compliance and safety training when required
- Flexible scheduling and ability to work under pressure
Physical Requirements
- Lift 50 lbs floor to waist and waist to shoulder multiple times
- Standing and walking for long durations
- Bending, squatting, and kneeling multiple times for long durations
- Climb up and down ladders multiple times
- Balance and stand on a ladder with three points of contact for extended periods
- Comfortable working in heat and cold environments
