About the role

We are seeking an experienced Full Charge Bookkeeper / Office Manager to oversee the organization's day-to-day accounting functions and office operations.

This is a highly autonomous role for a professional who enjoys both accounting and administration and takes pride in keeping an organization running smoothly. As a key member of a small team, you will manage financial records, support budgeting and reporting processes, coordinate office operations, maintain organizational records, and serve as a trusted resource to executive leadership and board members.

Responsibilities

Accounting & Financial Management

  • Maintain complete and accurate financial records and general ledger activity
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
  • Process invoices, deposits, payments, and reimbursements
  • Perform monthly bank and account reconciliations
  • Assist with budget preparation, monitoring, and financial reporting
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
  • Coordinate audit support and maintain financial documentation
  • Ensure compliance with internal accounting policies and procedures
  • Monitor cash flow and maintain organized financial records

Office Administration & Operations

  • Manage daily office operations and administrative functions
  • Maintain contracts, organizational records, and document management systems
  • Coordinate vendors, service providers, and office resources
  • Support executive leadership with administrative and operational needs
  • Schedule meetings and assist with special projects and organizational initiatives
  • Maintain confidential files and records with a high degree of discretion

Board & Leadership Support

  • Prepare and distribute meeting materials and agendas
  • Maintain meeting records and official organizational documentation
  • Support governance-related administrative activities
  • Serve as a reliable point of contact for internal and external stakeholders

Requirements

Required

  • 3+ years of bookkeeping, accounting, or office management experience
  • Strong knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles
  • Experience managing full-cycle accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines independently
  • High degree of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality

Preferred

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Experience in nonprofit, public sector, governmental, or membership-based organizations
  • Experience supporting executive leadership and boards of directors
  • Experience with budgeting, audits, and financial reporting
