Responsibilities
- Oversee routine bookkeeping operations for several client accounts, ensuring each set of records is maintained accurately within QuickBooks Online.
- Enter, classify, and reconcile financial activity across bank, credit card, and loan accounts to keep balances current and dependable.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable workflows, including recording vendor bills, customer invoices, and related payment activity.
- Prepare journal entries, accruals, and other accounting adjustments to support complete and accurate general ledger reporting.
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual reconciliations and assist with closing activities to ensure timely financial reporting.
- Produce and review key financial statements such as income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports for completeness and accuracy.
- Communicate with clients to gather supporting documentation, answer bookkeeping questions, and resolve account discrepancies efficiently.
- Provide bookkeeping support for payroll processing, payroll-related reporting, and tax preparation readiness when needed.
- Recommend practical improvements to bookkeeping procedures and QuickBooks Online usage to strengthen efficiency and consistency.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of bookkeeping experience, preferably in an accounting firm, public accounting setting, or other multi-client environment.
- Strong hands-on expertise with QuickBooks Online and the ability to manage full-cycle bookkeeping tasks independently.
- Solid knowledge of core accounting principles, including general ledger activity, reconciliations, debits and credits, and financial statement preparation.
- Experience handling accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations with a high level of accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the use of formulas, data organization tools, and financial analysis features.
- Able to balance multiple priorities, manage deadlines, and maintain attention to detail across several client engagements.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with a detail-oriented and service-oriented approach to client interaction.
Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
- QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor certification is a plus.
