The starting pay range for this position is $21.75 - $23.75 per hour. The full pay range is $21.75 - $37.00 per hour. Pay is based on several factors, including labor markets, education, work experience, and certifications.

About the Role

As a Fulfillment Operations Team Leader, you will enable a consistent experience for guests by ensuring they get what they want, when they want it, and how they want it. This role focuses on operations, process, and efficiency in picking, prepping, packing, sorting, and shipping products safely and effectively.
This role provides skills and experience in:
- Guest service fundamentals and building a guest-first culture
- Retail business fundamentals, including sales trends, inventory management, and pricing strategies
- Planning daily and weekly workloads to support business priorities and sales goals
- Process improvements and workload efficiency
- Leading a team of hourly team members, including interviewing, developing, coaching, evaluating, and retaining talent
Responsibilities
- Consistently deliver guest experience commitments to create an easy, inspiring, and friendly experience.
- Ensure every team member understands, is trained, and consistently delivers on Target’s guest experience commitments.
- Actively observe and provide feedback, holding team members accountable while recognizing great guest experience moments.
- Review guest, financial, and team outcome metrics to identify opportunities, take action to improve, and align the team on the right behaviors and execution.
- Demonstrate a service culture that prioritizes the guest service experience. Model, train, and coach expectations to deliver the service standard.
- Lead your team and drive fulfillment goals, understanding your role in supporting sales growth and how your departments contribute to total store profitability.
- Utilize workload planning tools to ensure your team completes all scheduled workload and all orders are fulfilled to meet delivery, freshness, and service standards.
- Review all fulfillment reporting to identify gaps and develop a plan to resolve them.
- Create daily plans for your team with direction from your direct leader.
- Be an expert in operations, accuracy, process, and efficiency to enable efficient delivery to guests by leading pickup and ship-from-store workload.
- Evaluate and recommend candidates for open positions and develop a guest-centric team. Support your direct leader in onboarding.
- Establish clear goals around quality, accuracy, and timeliness with your direct leader and hold team members accountable to expectations.
- Close training gaps through coaching conversations.
- Ensure the team follows food safety guidelines and selects fresh food items for guests.
- Ensure supplies are ordered timely and stocked, partnering with your direct leader for ordering.
- As a key carrier, follow all safe and secure training and processes.
- Occasionally assume store-level leadership on duty (LOD) responsibilities to enable the guest experience during assigned shifts.
- Demonstrate inclusivity by valuing diverse voices and approaches, being authentic and respectful, and creating equitable experiences.
- Lead and demonstrate a safety culture through modeling and recognizing safe behaviors, identifying and correcting hazards, and holding the team accountable.
- Model the execution of physical security processes to enhance in-store security culture.
- Support merchandise protection strategies across the store, including ordering, storage, and application as directed by best practices.
- Lead and demonstrate a culture of executing all best practices as outlined in team onboarding and learning; help close skill gaps through development and coaching.
- Address all store emergency and compliance needs.
- Support guest services such as back-up cashier, order pick-up (OPU), and Drive Up (DU), maintaining a compliance culture.
- Comply with federal, state, and local adult beverage laws.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
- Previous retail experience preferred but not required.
- Ability to lead and hold others accountable.
- Ability to learn and adapt to current technology needs.
- Work independently and as part of a team.
- Manage workload and prioritize tasks independently.
- Welcoming and helpful attitude toward guests and team members.
- Effective communication skills.
- Access all areas of the building to respond to guest or team member issues.
- Interpret instructions, reports, and information.
- Accurately handle cash register operations as needed.
- Climb up and down ladders.
- Scan, handle, and move merchandise efficiently and safely, including frequently lifting or moving merchandise up to 44 pounds without additional assistance.
- Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners and other technology equipment.
- Flexible work schedule (e.g., nights, weekends, and holidays) with reliable and prompt attendance.
This role is full-time but does not guarantee 40 hours each week. Hours will depend on the needs of the business and may fluctuate as required.
