About the Role
Working at Target means helping all families discover the joy of everyday life. As a Fulfillment Operations Team Leader, you’ll enable a consistent guest experience by ensuring products are picked, prepped, packed, sorted, and shipped safely and efficiently. This role builds skills in guest service, retail business fundamentals, workload planning, process improvements, and team leadership.
Responsibilities
- Deliver a consistent, easy, inspiring, and friendly guest experience by training and holding team members accountable to Target’s service standards
- Review guest, financial, and team outcome metrics to identify opportunities, drive results, and celebrate wins
- Lead fulfillment goals, support sales growth, and contribute to total store profitability
- Use workload planning tools to ensure scheduled tasks are completed and orders meet delivery, freshness, and service standards
- Create daily plans for your team and resolve gaps in fulfillment reporting
- Enable efficient delivery to guests by leading pickup and ship-from-store workloads
- Evaluate and recommend candidates for open positions; develop and onboard a guest-centric team
- Set clear goals around quality, accuracy, and timeliness; coach team members to meet expectations
- Ensure compliance with food safety guidelines and fresh food selection
- Order and stock supplies in partnership with your direct leader
- Assume store-level leadership on duty (LOD) responsibilities as needed
- Demonstrate and uphold a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance; model and recognize safe behaviors
- Support merchandise protection strategies, including ordering, storage, and application of best practices
- Address store emergencies and compliance needs
- Assist with guest services such as back-up cashier, order pick-up (OPU), and Drive Up (DU) while maintaining compliance
- Perform all other duties as needed
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be at least 18 years of age or older
- Previous retail experience preferred but not required
- Ability to lead and hold others accountable
- Willingness to learn and adapt to current technology needs
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong workload management and task prioritization skills
- Welcoming and helpful attitude toward guests and team members
- Effective communication skills
- Access all areas of the building to respond to guest or team member issues
- Ability to interpret instructions, reports, and information
- Handle cash register operations as needed
- Climb up and down ladders
- Scan, handle, and move merchandise efficiently and safely, including lifting up to 44 pounds without assistance
- Operate handheld scanners, frequency devices, and other technology equipment
- Flexible work schedule (nights, weekends, holidays) with reliable and prompt attendance
This is a full-time role, but hours may fluctuate based on business needs and are not guaranteed at 40 hours per week.
