Fulfillment Operations Supervisor
About the role
Leading with a focus on good stewardship, innovation, and efficiency, the Fulfillment Operations Supervisor oversees all day-to-day fulfillment operations occurring within the Turning Point Fulfillment Center (TPFC) floor and loading dock areas. The Fulfillment Operations Supervisor leads a team of 3-7 people to ensure and coordinate the fulfillment of all domestic orders for the TPFC. This position also supervises the shipping, receiving, and transfer of orders from within Turning Point and Shadow Mountain Community Church. The Fulfillment Operations Supervisor and their team of Fulfillment Specialists also works to support the monthly fulfillment of the Bible Strong Partners packages. Working with partner Departments within Turning Point and Third-Party Logistics (3PLs) providers, the Fulfillment Operations Supervisor ensures the timely shipping, tracking, and delivery of all Turning Point international shipments. This position reports directly to the Fulfillment and Inventory Manager.
Responsibilities
- Fulfillment Center Floor Supervision
- Leads and supervises the team of Fulfillment Specialists to ensure timely fulfillment of all orders leaving the TPFC
- Supervises the appropriate picking, packing, and shipping of all orders leaving the TPFC
- Prioritizes order fulfillment for the team
- Ensures the TPFC floor is safe, clean, and organized at all times
- Oversees the safe movement of large orders, pallets, and other inventory on the TPFC floor
- Reviews employee performance for all Fulfillment Specialists, at least annually and as needed for specific employee performance issues
- In the absence of the Fulfillment and Inventory Manager, acts as the lead for all Fulfillment Center Operations
- International Order Coordination
- Working within the TPFC and with 3PLs, coordinates the timely fulfillment and delivery of international orders
- Leads monthly international shipping meetings for TP Department partners
- Oversees and ensures international orders are delivered by the most cost-effective method
- Reviews and updates international shipping procedures in an ongoing manner to ensure good stewardship and best practices
- Coordinates with TP International Offices to ensure timely delivery and updating of inventory
- Internal Order Coordination
- Supervises the timely and accurate fulfillment of all internal orders fulfilled at the TPFC
- Ensures appropriate coordination for internal orders fulfilled at 3PLs
- Customer Order Resolution
- Working with the Inventory Coordinator, efficiently resolves errors in customer orders
- Resolves shipping errors within the ERP and CRM
- Events and Projects Support
- Working with the BSP and Volunteer Coordinator, provides team support for the monthly BSP package fulfillment and shipping
- Provides direction to the Fulfillment Team to support as needed project support
- Supervises interdepartmental projects involving the loading, packing, and shipping of inventory and non-inventory items for projects and events support
- Forklift Trainer
- Working with the Lead Fulfillment Specialist, provides training and testing for all TPFC employees for certification
- Supervises the safe operation, storage, and maintenance of all TP forklifts and related equipment

Requirements
- 4 years of combined experience in supervisory leadership positions and/or experience in customer order fulfillment, inventory control, or oversight of inventory management.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience.
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to speak to individuals and groups comfortably.
- Exhibited professional judgement and decision-making skills.
- Must exhibit great attention to detail and work independently.
- Demonstrated organizational skills.
- Aptitude with technology tools and resources.
- Self-starter with multi-tasking abilities.

- Demonstrated interpersonal skills, able to interact well with direct and cross-functional team members.
- Intermediate skill in Microsoft Office programs (Excel, PowerPoint).
- NetSuite or similar shipping or ERP system experience is a plus.

Pay
The expected wage for this position is $27.00 to $31.00 an hour. The actual compensation offered will depend on a variety of factors, including qualifications, experience, skills, and location.

This is a non-exempt, full-time position at Turning Point’s Fulfillment Innovation Center in San Diego, CA.
