About the role

The Fuel Pump Assembly Technician is responsible for assembling, testing, inspecting, packaging, and repairing fuel pump assemblies according to established work instructions, drawings, and quality standards. This role requires strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment while maintaining safety, quality, and delivery expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble fuel pump assemblies using power and hand tools in accordance with work instructions and established quality standards.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair fuel pumps as needed.
  • Read mechanical drawings, diagrams, specifications, bills of materials (BOMs), and work instructions.
  • Properly operate and maintain hand tools, power tools, and production equipment used in the assembly process.
  • Build hardware kits accurately according to the Bill of Materials (BOM).
  • Operate the InstaPak packaging machine to safely and efficiently package completed pumps.
  • Verify components, quantities, and packaging requirements prior to shipment.
  • Perform visual inspections of in-process and finished products to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
  • Identify and communicate defects, discrepancies, or quality concerns.
  • Rework or correct products as directed to meet established quality requirements.
  • Complete required production and quality documentation accurately and timely.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to meet daily production goals and customer delivery requirements.
  • Maintain a consistent pace and level of productivity while maintaining quality.
  • Communicate production issues, equipment concerns, and material shortages to the appropriate team member or supervisor.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with company standards.
  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and applicable work instructions.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

  • Must be self-motivated and proactive in completing tasks, seeking out solutions to problems that may be encountered.
  • Must display a positive attitude towards coworkers, customers, and vendors.
  • Detail-oriented and able to maintain a clean, highly organized work environment.
  • Must enjoy repetitive tasks that require attention to details.
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for up to 8 hours per day.
  • Able to perform fine finger and hand manipulation up to 8 hours per day.
  • Strong desire to be a part of a rapidly changing organization.
