About the role

This position involves filling prescriptions, assisting customers, unpacking totes, answering telephones, and addressing questions within specified limits. Team members must hold state or national certification.

Responsibilities

  • Review the work schedule, check equipment, and prepare supplies at the start of each shift.
  • Move, open, and unpack totes, then stock items on appropriate shelves.
  • Clean shelving, monitor inventory levels, and inspect products for expiration dates.
  • Assist customers and answer telephone calls, verifying customer identification when required.
  • Complete the prescription filling process, including data entry and product dispensing.
  • Maintain state or national certification and licensure independently.
  • Administer immunizations to customers if certified to do so.

Requirements

  • Authorization to work in the U.S.
  • Meet state-mandated minimum age requirements.
  • Pass a background check and drug screening.
  • Ability to read, write, communicate, and comprehend instructions to comply with company policies and safety regulations.
  • Complete a 60-day introductory (probationary) period.
  • Meet ergonomic and physical requirements, including physical base scores for the position.
  • Ability to use or learn to use equipment and tools required for the job safely.
  • Adhere to company performance standards for the role.
  • Wear assigned, approved clothing and shoes for the job.
  • Maintain valid specialty licenses, certificates, or permits required for the position.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Understand and follow company policies and procedures as outlined in the policy and employee manuals.
  • Comply with all state and federal pharmacy laws and regulations.
  • Knowledge of MSDS information for materials used on the job.
  • Complete Lockout/Tagout, Confined Space, Right-to-Know, and HIPAA for Pharmacy Associates training.
  • Fulfill all additional pharmacy training requirements.

Physical Requirements

  • Shift duration: Minimum 4-hour shifts, varying based on business needs.
  • Job cycles: Continuous activity throughout the shift.
  • Lifting/carrying: Up to 50 lbs.
  • Posture: Stand 55% of the time, walk 45% of the time.
  • Category IV physical demands: Lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling up to 50 lbs.
  • Maximum static pull: 20 lbs.
