The primary purpose of this job is to fill prescriptions, help customers, unpack totes, answer telephone calls, and answer questions within specified limits. Team members are required to be either state or nationally certified.

Responsibilities

  • Review the work schedule, check equipment, and fill supplies at the start of the shift.
  • Move totes, open totes, unpack incoming supplies, and stock items on appropriate shelves.
  • Clean shelving, check inventory levels, and inspect product for expiration dates.
  • Assist customers and answer telephone calls, verifying customer identification when required.
  • Complete the prescription filling process, including data entry and product dispensing.
  • Maintain state or national certification and license requirements independently.
  • If certified to immunize, complete the immunization process for customers.
  • Understand and follow company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
  • Comply with all state and federal pharmacy laws and standards.
  • Complete required training, including Lockout/Tagout, Confined Space, Right-to-Know, HIPAA, and additional pharmacy training.

Requirements

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Must meet state-required minimum age.
  • Must successfully complete a background check and drug screening.
  • Must be able to read, write, communicate, and understand English to complete job duties and comply with company policies.
  • Must complete the company introductory (probationary) period of 60 days.
  • Must meet ergonomic and physical requirements for the position.
  • Must be able to use or learn to use equipment and tools required for the job.
  • Must perform all job functions safely and meet company performance standards.
  • Must agree to wear assigned clothes and shoes approved for the job.
  • Must maintain valid specialty licenses, certificates, or permits required for the position.

Physical Requirements

  • Shift hours: minimum 4-hour shift or more depending on business needs.
  • Job cycles: continual maximum.
  • Lift/carry: up to 50 lbs.
  • Stand 55%, walk 45% of the time.
  • Category IV: lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling up to 50 lbs.
  • Maximum static pull: 20 lbs.
