About the role

The primary purpose of this role is to fill prescriptions, assist customers, unpack supplies, answer telephone calls, and address questions within specified limits. Team members must be either state or nationally certified.

Responsibilities

• Review the work schedule, check equipment, and prepare supplies at the start of each shift.
• Move, open, and unpack totes, placing items on appropriate shelves.
• Clean shelving, check inventory levels, and inspect products for expiration dates.
• Assist customers and answer telephone calls, verifying customer identification when required.
• Complete the prescription filling process, including data entry and product dispensing.
• Maintain state or national certification and licensure independently.
• Administer immunizations to customers if certified to do so.

Requirements

• Authorization to work in the U.S.
• Meet state-required minimum age.
• Successfully pass a background check and drug screening.
• Ability to read, write, communicate, and understand job duties and company policies.
• Complete a 60-day introductory (probationary) period.
• Meet ergonomic and physical requirements, including physical base scores for the position.
• Ability to use or learn to use equipment and tools required for the job.
• Perform all job functions safely and meet company performance standards.
• Wear assigned clothes and shoes approved for the role.
• Maintain valid specialty licenses, certificates, or permits required for the position.

Physical Requirements

• Shift hours: minimum 4-hour shift or more, depending on business needs.
• Job cycles: continual maximum.
• Lift/carry: up to 50 lbs.
• Stand 55%, walk 45% of the time.
• Category IV: lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling up to 50 lbs.
• Maximum static pull: 20 lbs.

Preferred Requirements

• Understand and follow company policies and procedures as outlined in the policy and employee manuals.
• Comply with all state and federal laws, pharmacy rules, and standards.
• Know MSDS information for materials used during work.
• Complete Lockout/Tagout, Confined Space, Right-to-Know, and HIPAA for Pharmacy Associates training.
• Complete all additional pharmacy training requirements.
