Hegeman Avenue Apartments

Hegeman Avenue Apartments is a supportive/affordable housing development in Brownsville, Brooklyn, providing affordable housing for low-income working families up to 60% of Area Median Income and 42 units set aside for formerly homeless individuals who are ESSHI eligible. CAMBA provides on-site supportive services including case management and 24/7 front desk security services. Amenities include a community room with a kitchen, a library/computer room, a tenant garden, and laundry room.

Full-Time Security Guard

  • Maintain security and fire safety of the facility.
  • Employ crisis prevention/intervention and crisis management skills.
  • Patrol buildings and grounds.
  • Examine doors, windows, gates, and fire exits.
  • Observe and report irregularities.
  • Monitor tenants and facility via security camera systems.
  • Conduct fire safety patrols and report findings.
  • Conduct security screenings of all tenants and visitors.
  • Issue commendations and complete infraction reports.
  • Observe departing employees, visitors, and tenants.
  • Document in the security log book and incident report forms.
  • Maintain assigned equipment per shift.
  • Sign equipment in and out for each shift.
  • May provide required information for reports.

Minimum Education/Experience Required

  • High school diploma or G.E.D.
  • Pre-Assignment security guard training course certificate.
  • On-the-Job security guard training course certificate or obtain within 90 days of employment.
  • 8 Hour Annual In-Service Course each calendar year.
  • NYS Security Guard license.
  • NYS Security Guard registration.
  • Fire Guard certification.

Compensation

$33,742.80 annually

Status

Full-time (35 hours per week)
