FT Mechanic II Material Handling - DC05 (Nights)

About the role
Perform routine repairs and preventive maintenance (PMs) on equipment. Perform quality work in a safe fashion and understand all safety rules for the task being performed. Each person is responsible for working productively and learning skills available through training and job shadowing.
Responsibilities
- Enter work into the computer maintenance system throughout the shift and use the system to review repeat repairs and previous work performed on equipment.
- Safely shut down systems they have been trained on.
- Perform simple tasks without instruction or guidance.
- Ensure all equipment meets standards, codes, and regulatory requirements.
- Progress to Mechanic III through education and/or demonstrated ability.
- Perform repairs independently after instruction from Mechanic III.
- Serve as a resource to others in resolving complex problems.
- Work flexible hours or on-call as required.
- Supply their own tools.
- Perform work in difficult body positions and environmental conditions from time to time.
- Learn more complex tasks as experience is gained.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent diploma.
- Prior experience in mechanical areas is desired.
Skills
- Mechanical and electrical aptitude.
- Schematic/blueprint reading.
- Dexterity with both hands.
