About the role
Perform routine repairs and preventive maintenance (PMs) on equipment. Perform quality work in a safe fashion and understand all safety rules for the task being performed. In carrying out their duties, each person is responsible to work productively and learn skills available through training and job shadowing.
Responsibilities
- Enter work into the computer maintenance system throughout the shift and use the system to review repeat repairs and previous work performed on equipment.
- Safely shut down systems they have been trained on.
- Perform simple tasks without instruction or guidance.
- Ensure all equipment meets standards, codes, and regulatory requirements.
- Progress to Mechanic III through education and/or demonstrated ability.
- Perform repairs independently after instruction from Mechanic III.
- Serve as a resource to others in resolving complex problems and issues.
- Work in difficult body positions and environmental conditions from time to time.
- Learn more complex tasks as experience is gained.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent diploma.
- Prior experience in mechanical areas is desired.
- Mechanical and electrical aptitude.
- Ability to read schematics and blueprints.
- Dexterity with both hands.
- Willing to work flexible hours and be on call.
- Mechanics are required to supply their own tools.
