About Harrisburg University

Harrisburg University (HU) offers an applied science and technology education for students who want a degree and a dedicated pathway to a career. Its focus is to educate career-minded individuals in the areas of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM), giving them the tools to succeed, while helping to shape their communities, locally and beyond. Our goal is to help stimulate economic growth in our region by establishing a STEM-educated workforce — a necessary resource in today's economy.

About Healthcare Informatics

At HU, this 36-hour graduate program provides unique educational opportunities in this emerging area for experienced clinicians (physicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants), health insurers, and clinically oriented healthcare administrators. Many graduate programs miss or short-change perhaps the most important skill set for this new kind of practitioner: the translational, communications, and interpersonal skills that make the difference between success and failure during selection, implementation, and optimization of healthcare IT systems. What makes our program unique is familiarity with critical skills in change management, knowledge management, project management, organizational psychology, generational differences, human-machine interfaces, analytics, and optimization tools such as Lean and Agile.
