About the role

The College of Information - Department of Information Science at the University of North Texas (UNT) invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor position in Health Informatics to begin in Spring 2023.

Responsibilities

  • Teach both undergraduate and graduate courses in Health Informatics
  • Conduct research in areas such as clinical informatics, health information systems, health data analytics, and the use of technology in healthcare
  • Explore the challenges of health information technology as it relates to underserved populations
  • Work with doctoral students and serve on dissertation committees

Requirements

  • Demonstrate a record of research accomplishments
  • Ability to design and deliver courses in various formats, including online and hybrid modalities
  • Be motivated to be a leader in research and teaching
  • Leverage the strengths of the department's dynamic faculty and programs
  • Build collaborative relationships within the University and profession

Qualifications

  • PhD in Health Informatics, Computer Science, or related field
  • Strong record of research publications
  • Experience teaching at the university level
  • Interest in working with underserved populations

Skills

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues
  • Knowledge of health information systems and technologies
