Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of meals following established menus, dietary guidelines, and residents' preferences.
- Ensure food is cooked and served at safe temperatures and in compliance with Serve Safe standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with the Dietary Manager and team to plan menus that meet nutritional requirements and dietary restrictions.
- Monitor inventory levels, assist with food ordering, and manage waste to minimize costs.
- Train and guide kitchen staff as needed to maintain high-quality standards.
- Engage with residents and staff to foster a welcoming and respectful atmosphere in the dining area.
- Address special dietary needs or allergies with attention to detail and care.
Qualifications
- Serve Safe Certification (required).
- Proven experience as a cook in a residential or healthcare setting is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, nutrition, and food safety standards.
- Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with residents and staff.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
