About the role
Bishop Gadsden is a life care retirement community located on 134 acres of marshlands and oaks, just 10 minutes from downtown Charleston. As a Community Response Team Member, you will play a crucial role in maintaining safety and security.
Responsibilities
- Patrol halls and grounds of the community on a regular basis throughout your shift according to standard procedure.
- Provide high visibility and presence to assure residents of caution and care.
- Complete incident reports as needed.
- Respond to emergency pager according to procedure.
- Follow procedure for emergencies, including directing EMS if needed.
- Deliver prescription and other deliveries after hours if needed.
- Absorb and neutralize wildlife as necessary.
- Conduct and perform fire drills according to procedure.
- Check fire extinguishers and assist in monthly and annual inspections.
Requirements
- At least twenty-one (21) years of age.
- A high school diploma or equivalent, preferred.
- General experience in security preferred.
- Valid SC driver’s license.
- Able to successfully complete training and be certified in Advanced First Aid (first responder) within 90 days of hiring date.
- Interpersonal skills necessary for exchanging information and maintaining a courteous relationship with residents, families, visitors, and Bishop Gadsden employees.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to lift and/or carry weights of up to 50 pounds.
