About the Role
As a FSQA Tech you will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality.
Responsibilities
- Performing physical and visual inspections of products and plant systems.
- Documenting and calculating results accurately.
- Taking corrective action when necessary, such as alerting appropriate personnel to adjust processes, identifying, segregating, and isolating non-conforming products, and reporting results to management.
- Handling additional assignments as requested.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 1 year experience in the food manufacturing industry OR related Quality Assurance type experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to complete Tyson paperwork.
- Leadership skills to motivate the hourly workforce.
- Good problem identification and problem-solving skills.
- Math and organizational skills.
- Ability to read and interpret product specifications.
- Ability to function well under stress.
- Flexibility to work where and when needed.
Working Conditions
- Normal for a food manufacturing setting.
- Involves lifting materials and products up to 75 pounds.
- Must be willing and able to stand on hard surfaces for up to 12 hours per day.
- Must work in cold/hot temperatures typically ranging from 30-90 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Must be able to work in a wet environment.
- Repetitive bending, reaching, squatting, gripping, pushing, and pulling.
- Must be able to reach high and low levels frequently.
- Ability to climb step ladders and/or stairs.
- Must be able to work overtime and weekends as needed.
- Position will require Lock Out Tag Out certification.
Safety Equipment
- Steel-toed work boots.
- Hardhats.
- Safety glasses (where required).
- Hairnets and beard nets (if applicable).
- Smocks.
Restrictions
- Cell phones and jewelry are not permitted on the factory floor.
