About the role
Repetitively monitor critical food quality processes on an hourly cycle or as needed. Maintain and control all quality aspects of the processing establishment. The scope of the food quality processes being monitored will be dynamic and periodically updated to reflect changing priorities and focus.
Reports directly to FSQA Supervisor and coordinates with FSQA Technician and FSQA Monitor on duty.
Responsibilities
- Conduct pre-operational inspection of production equipment to ensure sanitary conditions of the facility prior to the start of operations and address non-compliance as it occurs.
- Evaluate product at each processing step.
- Oversee marination process, verify accurate ingredient amounts are used in conjunction with the recipe.
- Ensure product quality based on customer requests (e.g., solution, packaging type, ounces, use-by date).
- Confirm USDA-approved label with establishment’s Mark of Inspection and ingredient statement matches the physical finished product in the case.
- Document marinated items and oversee proper personal protective equipment use by Production personnel.
- Authorize release of marination and packaging equipment after wash downs throughout the production day.
- Follow up on specific customer complaints as directed by the FSQA Supervisor.
- Conduct Acceptable Quality Limit (AQL) inspections of incoming raw material and report findings to FSQA Supervisor.
- Assist other FSQA team members as needed and cross-train with them.
- Interact with other departments to perform job functions and act as a guide as needed.
- Monitor daily compliance by plant employees regarding sanitation and hygiene; inspect the facility for deficiencies in sanitation and maintenance.
- Assist the FSQA department in designing new quality programs.
Requirements
- Minimum: High School Diploma and related experience.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
- Must be able to operate an iPad.
- Spanish is a plus.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to withstand a cold climate for at least 8 hours a day.
- Ability to bend, squat, lift, and move around machinery.
- Able to lift 50 lbs.
Working Conditions
- Stand in a cold climate for up to 8 hours at a time with two 15-minute breaks and a 30-minute lunch break.
