Job Title: FSQ TechnicianJob Description The FSQ Technician plays a key role in ensuring the quality and safety of cheese and liquid food products by auditing production paperwork and performing QA/QC tests in both production and laboratory settings. This position works on a three-day rotation covering production quality checks, lab testing and analysis, and quality auditing activities to support consistent, compliant, and high-quality food manufacturing. Responsibilities Obtain cheese and liquid food product samples from production for quality and safety testing.Perform daily batching scale verifications to ensure accurate measurements and adherence to specifications.Prepare laboratory testing materials and supplies, and maintain adequate inventory levels to support continuous testing activities.Conduct lab quality testing and analysis on cheese and liquid food samples in microbiology and chemistry environments.Audit and complete production paperwork and quality documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with internal standards.Update daily temperature logs and maintain, review, and distribute critical quality control reports as requested by QA leadership.Support production quality checks on the manufacturing floor to verify that processes meet established quality and food safety standards.Assist with audit paperwork and documentation related to regulatory and internal quality audits.Ensure compliance with plant safety standards and applicable regulatory requirements, including FDA and USDA guidelines.Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and company procedures to maintain food safety and product integrity.Collaborate closely with team members in both the plant and lab to resolve quality issues and support continuous improvement.Participate in weekend rotation work as scheduled and respond to all-hands-on-deck needs to support production and quality priorities. Essential Skills Associates or Bachelor’s degree in a science-related field such as biology, chemistry, or microbiology.0–3 years of experience in a quality position, or 2+ years of quality experience with 2+ years of GMP and/or FDA experience.Knowledge of biology, chemistry, and microbiology as they relate to food quality and safety testing.Experience with quality assurance and quality control processes in a food manufacturing or laboratory environment.Familiarity with HACCP principles and their application in food production and quality systems.Ability to perform batch scale verification and interpret results to ensure accurate production measurements.Proficiency in laboratory preparation, including handling lab equipment, preparing samples, and organizing lab supplies.Experience working with production and audit paperwork, ensuring accurate documentation and recordkeeping.Understanding of FDA and USDA regulatory requirements related to food manufacturing and quality.Ability to work with laboratory and production data, maintain logs, and generate quality control reports.Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of food quality and safety. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience working in food quality environments, including laboratory and production settings.Background in food quality, QA, QC, and laboratory operations supporting food manufacturing.Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and their practical application on the production floor.Comfort working with audit processes, including preparation and review of documentation for internal and external audits.Ability to collaborate effectively within a close-knit team that emphasizes accountability and teamwork.Willingness to learn new processes and support the introduction of new production equipment and technologies.Interest in professional growth with opportunities for advancement within the organization. Work Environment This role is based in a food manufacturing facility and a microbiology and chemistry laboratory, working directly with cheese and liquid food products. The schedule is primarily Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., with an approximate every-other-weekend rotation to support production and quality needs. The environment is fast-paced and highly collaborative, with a close team that values high accountability, strong teamwork, and an all-hands-on-deck mentality when required. The facility uses modern production equipment, including new systems designed to package shelf-stable beverages such as non-refrigerated soy milk, creating opportunities to work with innovative technologies and expanding operations. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Germantown, WI. Pay And Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
