About the role
The FSQ RTE Manager (Technical Authority) is responsible for ensuring food safety in all Ready-to-Eat (RTE) production and packaging operations. This role makes final decisions on product release, holds line startups, leads escalations and responses to deviations, sanitation failures, and environmental risks. The position also enforces sanitation standards, conducts audits, and monitors environmental monitoring and pathogen control.
Responsibilities
- Make final decisions on product release / hold, line startup approval, and production shutdowns
- Lead escalation and response to deviations, sanitation failures, and environmental risks
- Define and enforce RAW → RTE separation, personnel and material flow, and controlled entry/exit points
- Audit zoning behavior daily, ensuring boot wash compliance, tool segregation, and elimination of all cross-contamination pathways
- Define and enforce sanitation standards and validate cleaning effectiveness through direct observation, ATP, and micro results
- Own pre-op verification standards, audit high-risk equipment, and ensure no production begins under unsafe conditions
- Partner with Micro Lab Manager to interpret trends, identify harborage points, and lead response to Listeria risks
- Define and enforce high-risk vector controls for drains, condensation, and equipment niches
- Maintain strong floor presence, correct GMP violations immediately, and hold operations, sanitation, and maintenance accountable
- Ensure the RTE process is scientifically sound, controlled, and safe
Qualifications
- 8+ years in food safety/QA leadership
- RTE food experience (strongly required)
- Deep expertise in HACCP, FSMA, GMPs, hygienic zoning, sanitation systems
- Proven ability to enforce standards and make high-pressure decisions

- Salary range: $94,000 - $106,000 (Salary)
