About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our Coinbase Advisor team within the Consumer & Business group. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing and enhancing our AI-driven advisor system, a pioneering agentic trading platform integrated within the Coinbase app. The Coinbase Advisor leverages advanced AI technologies, including large language models (LLMs), to facilitate natural conversations about users' portfolios, provide personalized financial advice, and execute trades autonomously. This position is primarily focused on frontend development within a full-stack environment, where you will be responsible for creating intuitive, fast, and trustworthy interfaces for millions of users. Your work will involve building real-time streaming interfaces for AI interactions, shaping agent behavior through prompt engineering, and collaborating closely with backend teams to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance. You will have the opportunity to influence product architecture, drive innovation in conversational UX, and partner with design and compliance teams to deliver features within regulatory frameworks. Qualifications
- 2+ years of professional engineering experience shipping consumer-facing products at scale
- Expert proficiency in TypeScript and React
- Strong experience in frontend architecture, including state management and API integration
- Experience building with LLMs in production, including agentic systems, streaming responses, and conversational interfaces
- Proven ability to lead projects from inception to deployment with minimal oversight
- Backend fluency in Go programming language
- Familiarity with crypto, trading, or financial products
- Experience with real-time data rendering and streaming interfaces
- Knowledge of responsible AI utilization, ensuring human oversight and compliance
Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end frontend development for Coinbase Advisor across mobile and web platforms, including chat interfaces, strategies, and entry points
- Build and optimize real-time, streaming interfaces for AI-driven advice, trade recommendations, and autonomous execution
- Shape agent behavior through prompt engineering, conversation analysis, and system prompts, treating them as product features
- Extend backend services and LLM integrations, such as LLM Gateway and Google Gemini, to enhance frontend experiences
- Design and implement frontend architecture for real-time market data, streaming state, and conversational UX
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design, engineering, and regulatory advisors to bring features from concept to launch within compliance standards
- Continuously improve frontend performance, latency, and reliability to ensure a seamless user experience
- Maintain responsible AI practices, ensuring transparency, human oversight, and ethical use of generative AI technologies
