About the role
We are seeking an experienced and passionate staff-level software engineer to join our front-end development team. As a core member of our early-stage team, you will play a vital role in establishing and maintaining front-end best practices, architecture, and craftsmanship. Your expertise will be instrumental in recruiting and mentoring a world-class engineering team dedicated to supporting Glue’s ambitious vision. The role involves working on heavily UI/UX-focused problems, utilizing modern technologies such as Typescript, React, and GraphQL, which form the foundation of our platform. As a technical leader, you will influence the product’s direction, contribute to the codebase, and shape the team culture. Our development process emphasizes rapid deployment, experimentation, and continuous improvement, with a focus on usability, performance, and innovation to enhance team communication tools.
Qualifications
- 6+ years of front-end web development experience.
- Minimum of 2+ years working with Typescript and React.
- Deep understanding of web technologies including DOM, CSS, and Javascript.
- Experience working with typed backend APIs such as GraphQL.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for improving existing systems.
- Self-motivated with the ability to independently manage projects and tasks.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience maintaining side projects or libraries is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field preferred.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of front-end architecture and best practices.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to deliver high-quality features.
- Identify opportunities for system improvements to enhance performance, scalability, and user experience.
- Mentor and support junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation.
- Participate in code reviews and ensure code quality and maintainability.
- Contribute to product design discussions, ensuring usability and accessibility standards are met.
- Help define the technical vision and roadmap for the front-end team.
