About the role

As a Staff Front End Engineer at Medely, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the front end vision for one of our core product teams. Your expertise will drive the development of high-impact web applications that are scalable, performant, and user-centric. You will collaborate closely with backend, mobile, product, and design teams to translate complex ideas into intuitive and accessible user interfaces. Leading architecture decisions, setting coding standards, and mentoring engineers will be key aspects of your responsibilities. Your contributions will directly influence how healthcare staffing operates in the modern digital landscape, improving experiences for users across the board.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional front end development experience
• Minimum of 3+ years of experience working with React, including state management, animations, and Webpack
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript
• Experience with modern frameworks and front end technologies
• Proven track record of architecting and leading complex, interactive web applications
• Experience with React Native is a plus
• Deep understanding of performance optimization and scalability across browsers and devices
• BS/BA in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
• Strong communication and leadership skills, with a passion for mentoring and team development

Responsibilities

• Act as the technical lead for front end development within cross-functional, agile teams
• Drive architecture decisions and establish coding standards to ensure application scalability, maintainability, and performance
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to develop accessible, high-performance interfaces
• Write high-quality, testable code and conduct thorough code reviews to uphold best practices
• Champion the adoption of modern front end technologies, tools, and development patterns
• Mentor and support other engineers to foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement
• Identify opportunities for performance improvements and implement solutions to optimize user experience
• Stay updated on emerging front end trends and incorporate relevant innovations into the stack
